Bear Medicine Herbs Founder and Herbalist
Tommy Priester, has been building and creating custom hand built drums since 1997, He has created over 150 drums of many different styles, shapes and sizes for his clients.

Every drum is made to fit your personal needs.
Each drum frame is built to withstand the demands of being in rigorous ceremonial situations, as in sweat Lodges, being in the deserts, humid areas, freezing weather and so on.
To date he has never had a drum returned because of a dissatisfied client.
Tommy builds each drum from a Shamanic perspective. He tunes in and listens to the information that is coming through for that person. The drum will be a personal Spirit tool for that person throughout their life.

Tommy, a practicing herbalist since 1999, combines extensive knowledge of Western herbalism, nutrition and diet with ancient wisdom traditions from Native American and other cultures. Tommy’s open, compassionate understanding and gentle, peaceful energy makes it possible for his clients to feel safe and access deeper aspects of themselves and become active participants in their own healing.
Tommy is also a masterful teacher and facilitator who combines expert knowledge of his subject with gentle humor. In addition to his own workshops and seminars he is a faculty member at The Boston School of Herbal Studies.
Tommy offers a wide range of services and programs—from individual consultations, Heart Mind Integration Method (a new shamanic perspective) and distance healing, to courses, workshops, and retreats—all with a goal of bringing health and well-being to his clients and students.
Tommy has studied with renowned master herbalists Gail Ulrich, Margi Flint, Matthew Wood, William LeSassier, Phillis Light, Donald Yance, and Stephen Harrod Buhner, and with master flower essence practitioner David Dalton of Delta Gardens.
Since 1984, when a Seminole elder introduced Tommy to traditional Native American ways, Tommy has been privileged to learn from Abanaki, Cherokee, Ojibwa, Lakota, and Cree elders. His primary teachers, Albert Tait and the late Don Cardinal, are Cree elders of Manitoba, Canada. Tommy has also studied the ancient wisdom traditions as taught in core shamanism with Michael Harner, John Ford, and Dana Robins, and Tibetan shamanism with Larry Peters.
